D) How to create your Pod user

For improved security, we will install your site under a user account. We recommend creating a separate  Pod User for each site if different users may need to access each site SFTP (SFTP is a way to securely transfer files online to your Pod) separately. Or otherwise keep all your sites under the same Pod User if you want to access all your sites from the same SFTP account.

Create a Pod User

  1. You will find Your Pod User creation form in your Control Panel under "Pod User Management" > "Create Pod User".

  2. Choose a friendly username and fill in the remaining fields with a complex password.

Here you go, now you have a Pod user, to deploy your first site on. Note that these credentials will be useful later on for transferring files to your Pod,or for more advanced tasks you may want to run under SSH (SSH, also known as Secure Shell or Secure Socket Shell, is a network protocol that gives users, particularly system administrators, a secure way to access a server over an unsecured network).

Note: We don't recommend using SSH unless you are a system administrator and know what you're doing. Otherwise you may break your Pod. Instead of trying things alone, let us know how we can help you, we are more than happy to help you!
